Shop / muu breast milk collector
Included in this kit are 5 collectors, each with a capacity of 5ml/0.17oz, 5 labels, 1 black marker, 1 silicone bag, 1 ice pack, a package of 10 water wipes, and a brush. The 40 Weeks After set for colostrum collection provides a complete solution. With the pre-sterilized syringes for collecting colostrum, you can store it and feed the baby directly. The silicone bag keeps the kit together, stores the collectors in the freezer, transports them to the hospital (with the ice pack), and sterilizes them for reuse. Each item in this kit has multiple uses!
Colostrum is the first breast milk that the baby receives in the first few days after birth. It is often referred to as liquid gold due to its perfect balance of proteins, antibodies, hormones, vitamins, and developmental factors. This composition helps the baby with various post-birth conditions such as weight loss, hypoglycemia, jaundice, gut functioning, and boosts their immune system. While collecting colostrum is optional, it has been proven to be beneficial in many situations.
Collecting colostrum and creating a stash can provide your newborn with essential nutrients quickly and assist in feeding babies in the NICU or those struggling to latch. With approval from your healthcare provider, you can begin collecting colostrum around 36/37 weeks pregnant, starting with gentle breast massages. The thick, sticky drops of colostrum can be easily caught and stored safely in small silicone collectors.
The 40 Weeks After collectors have a convenient shape that is ideal for capturing thick, sticky breastmilk drops. They are individually wrapped and pre-sterilized, made of soft BPA-free medical grade silicone. The unique shape allows for two methods of collection: squeezing the collector with the nib on to suction drops, or removing the top to express directly into the tube.
After each collection, you can store the labeled collectors in the silicone bag in the freezer along with the ice pack for easy transportation to the hospital. When ready to feed the baby, simply bring the milk to room temperature and feed directly from the collector. The water wipes can be used to clean the nipple during expression or to clean the baby during feeding.
Cleaning and reusing the collectors is simple with the included brush. Clean each collector with the brush and sterilize them in the microwave using the silicone bag. The collectors are now ready for reuse!
